Good Events since Italy

Good People-Good Food-Good Exercise
Since I started this blog as a summer journal, I best add to it.
6/28 Our long time friend Bill marries our new friend DJ
7/3 30+ mile bike ride with Ron and Dave-preparing Dave for the Across Iowa bike ride.
7/8 Concert with about 10 of our food and wine loving friends-my sister and husband joined us.
7/10 Norm and I started a new tradition--every 2nd Thursday of the month, visit Dry Dock brewery and try their new brews and bring home a growler--Jan and Phil like Apricot Blonde.
7/12 Great fish boil with New Orleans beads and all at John and Judy's, with Steve, Cindy, Rod and Leslie.
7/14 Another bike ride for Dave with Ron from home to Aurora Reservoir and lunch.
7/16 Steve and I rode the highland canal for a couple of hours toward downtown. Snack at Panera's.
7/16 Concert-Kortney joined us.
7/19 Plains Conservation Center Beer tasting with our beer buds. Amanda and Ben came down.
7/20 The Buddy Holly Story-play at Arvada Center with Steve and Cindy-great show and tasty dinner at Di Cinci in Arvada. Tried their Chianti wine A Mano--pretty good.
7/22 Concert--Ron joined us-one of the best times in his 87 years. Mike rode with us and Judy came later. Mike asked me to help with picking the wine for their daughters wedding. OH BOY!

Neighbors and their bikes 7/21

Kent and Rolane at Aurora Reservoir. We passed each other at the concession stand, I just finished up a 3+ mile run and a 20+ mile ride, preparing for the My Way or the Tri Way. By the way, I'm not doing the MWTW, no way it costs too much and I know I can do it my way but don't want to torture myself, anyway and pay big bucks for the "do" way. Clever, huh?

Amanda's boyfriend will ride my bike. Amanda will swim, run, swim (go figure) and Ben will do the traditional.

New bike' first ride 7-16

I had a little problem with my old mountain bike--too heavy for one thing. And, the last time out I ran off the sidewalk and bent my back tire. So my excuse was--I had to pay $60 for an alignment and tune up for the My Way or the Tri Way. So I put that money on a new bike.

The new bike eliminated my excuse for NOT doing the My Way or Try Way. So I'm in! 14 mile ride, 4 mile run and 14 mile ride. No swimming for the old man. Kortney and Amanda have done the swim, ride, swim--Ben and Kevin have done the traditional sprint triathlon.

My new bike is a "Roma" model - appropriate huh? New small tires and my first flat today! Ugh!

We are back!

We have been back about 2 weeks--it has taken me that long to wade thru all the pictures. Aren't digital cameras great?
