Amanda's Birthday

I am a little out of sync-Amanda's birthday was at the beginning of August. Amanda's very thoughtful boyfriend, Ben, flew her to Colorado for a long weekend. Jan and I hustled back from northern Minnesota to stop by Loveland to catch some of the celebration. The pictures at the right of this blog records some of her favorite things to do. Then Amanda came to Aurora with us on Monday--Kortney and Paul had to start school.

Thanks Ben, it was just want we needed!

Mercy Me!

I don't think he got the message about moving closer OR he is either older than me or the sound was too much for him too.
These are out of sequence, but I wanted to show it anyhow! This is the crowd for the concert, it was just as full all the way around to 1st base. The promoter was in the suite and said we had 3 times more people attending the concert than any they have done this year.
The Rockies had a Faith Day! 25,000 church group tickets were sold, our church sent 350 people. Since we sent so many the Rockies gave us 2 tickets to their suite #13. Just like the old days of Lucent, food, refreshments et al.
My camera does not do it justice--the mountain view was spectacular. By the way I'm going to mow my lawn like this-jk!
We watched from the suite. We must be getting old because the sound was very loud even from where we were. Very good concert though!

YES! That's me in the Vette.

My buddy Dave, called yesterday afternoon and said "Do you wanna ride over in the vette to Dry Dock Brewery I need to pick up a couple of growlers for some people that are in town tomorrow!" I said "Ok, if I HAVE too!"

He has been trying to get Jan and I to take the vette out on a date. We have refused because it scares us to death about denting it or something. Anyway, he drives us to Dry Dock we have a couple, he tells me he can't drive home! He is a pilot and he just can't take the chance. So I HELP out by driving. It was fun!!!!!!!!

Next he is trying to get me to ride his Harley! NO WAY!

Long Lake, Minn

Round trip to this great vacation place was 2350 miles, almost to the mile. This was via Loveland to visit Amanda (Ben (her boyfriend) flew her in for her birthday), and we had to pick up our dog.

Of all the years we have been to Long Lake this was our first time to river kayak--first for Mike and all the years he has been up there too. It was really relaxing and peaceful--except when Mike fell in while trying to retrieve a bottle from the bottom of the river.

As you can see we built several camp fires--fun times--good stories, great refreshments/food and a memorable time with Mike and Laura.

Jan and I decided that we are beyond the "water sport" season of our lives. Removing my hearing aids and glasses makes for an difficult time around the water. Lots of "huhs" and I see everything in double. Not to mention balance, weak muscles, thin blood (cold) and all the other "old" issues.

Calling all Doctors!

What is this growing on my toe? I think I brought it back from the Minnesota lake.
